Unfortunately for our erstwhile heroes the Empire is in fast pursuit...
The scout walker marches up the centre whist a small unit of scout troopers and normal stormtroopers tries to take the right flank.
Fortunately the rebels seem to have some help from an indigenous local who takes out the imperial officer with nothing but a spear!
With the Imperial squad embarrassingly held up the walker takes the fight to the rebels but come under heavy fire from reinforcements from the shuttle.
With the walker out of action the teams make a run to the waiting shuttle but have to contend with waiting scout troopers...
Do the rebel teams make it off the moon of Endor safely? Tune in next time and find out :-)
Rules used were Galactic Heroes from Wiley Games. Out favourite rules set at the moment and they are available Here for the UK and European markets.

I'm actually pretty interested in doing some Star Wars gaming (with my son). But, I DO NOT want to get involved in anything Star Wars Legion or Fantasy Flight Games. Is Galactic Heroes designed with Star wars in mind? i.e. I do not have time to do custom army lists etc I just want something that is all good to go without having to write any of my own rules etc.
DeleteCheers for any advice you can offer.
P.S. I am thinking of using a bunch of Copplestone future warriors mercenaries and Heresy Sci-Fi troopers to represent Rebel Commandos leaving just characters and 1 or 2 packs of stormtroopers to pick up from FFG (hopefully making it a relatively cheap project!
No worries fella.
DeleteGalactic Heroes is a generic rules set but works very well with Star Wars. There are no lists per se but I think there will be a pdf of more accurate info and stats for characters and vehicles in the near future.
You can play it without any traits and lots of henchmen to start and go from there.
The Imperial Assault figures are a better match for normal 28mm figures as the Legion ones are huge. I only use the Wizards of the Coast bendy plastic ones though.
If you've got any more questions then give us a shout :-)
Thanks for that, I might grab the rules at some point and see how it goes. I might also get some of the WotC bendies as they appear to be not too expensively priced on eBay--thanks for the heads up; the Legion models do look way too big to go with anything else. I'm tempted by the old West End games metals but they look too small to go with anything else!
DeleteIt's a good cinematic set of rules and there's always an entertaining result.
DeleteUnfortunately the WEG figures are 25mm and are quite slight as well so really have to be used on their own.
Get a few bendies and see how it goes :-)
Beautiful pictures and an excellent report. The terrain looks ace, the addition of many types of plants, tufts and flock really makes the forest come alive.

DeleteFor me, it's a bit empty at the moment but I've got some more scatter on the go to fill it a bit and reduce the lines of sight a bit.

Great account. Like the shuttle. Homemade or commercial? IF commercial, who makes it?
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
DeleteComplete scratch build I'm afraid.
