There has been a sort of tradition that Sunday is VSF day and this year was no exception. As most people leave on the Sunday throughout the day (various trains and planes to catch etc) it was a sort of ‘pick me up’ game with people coming and going as the day went on.
Not too much of a report as the game is part of a long running campaign which can be read on the Red Planet Miniatures blog (although I have several games to put on there to catch up before I post this one).
The basic plot was that a British Officer by the name of Allan Farquarson had been having his wicked way with the Imperial Japanese Princess and tensions between the Japanese and British empires had becomes strained to the point of war.
The Japanese has captured Allan and were holding him in an allied City Martian outpost waiting for a large relief column to come and extract him to earth. The British and their allies; the Germans and Americans, were out to take him back...
Suffice to say, they succeeded.

This where all my hobby and OSHIRO items will be posted. It's an eclectic mix but hopefully there's a bit of something for most people (if not everyone :-).

BLAM 2018 Cartel game
So, onto the second day and second game of the weekend. Film style drugs cartels.
Again, four players for this one; two cartel gangs, one D.E.A group and a small squad of marine corp.
The head Luchadore (a cartel boss) needed to be stopped boarding his plane after sealing a deal that would make his gang the most powerful in Colombia. One of the cartel gans was there to kill him, another was there to save him, the marines were there to ‘delete the asset’ and the D.E.A needed him alive.
The rules were a modified version of Fistful of Lead which is our ‘go to’ rules set and will be available on my website at the start of November.
Four games were played and it ended up with one technical win for the marines, one outright win for the marines, and a win each for the two cartel gangs. The D.E.A had the use of a couple of four by fours but no one seemed to want to use them that much and just got out and started shooting.
Again, no battle report as such but pictures in sequence.

BLAM 2018 Boxer Rebellion game
Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I’ve been doing some freelance work which has sapped all my time but I did get a chance to have a weekend of gaming 😊
Three days of gaming goodness at a local pub with about 30 others of various nationalities.
The first game I hosted was a small Boxer Rebellion one. The rules were a simplified version of Muskets and Tomahawks and there were four players; two Chinese and two Japanese.
The Chinese player had to get into the village compound and kill at least two units and the Japanese had to stop them. All within four turns. The Chinese could recycle units as they were of a poorer quality than the Japanese (and also, they weren’t behind barricades).
The game was played three times and it ended up with two Chinese victories and one Japanese but to be fair the first Chinese victory was down to some rather splendid dice rolling on their part and some rubbish rolling from the Japanese.
On to the photos. Not much of a battle report but the photos are here in sequence. The buildings are from my Chinese building range, the Japanese are from my Japanese figure range and the Chinese are predominantly Wargames Foundry.
Next up will be the cartel game.

A little something from the weekend
I was fortunate enough to have an entire weekend of gaming from the 13th to the 15th at a little event called BLAM (British Lead Adventures Meeting). It's a small, invite only doo held in a pub in southwest London and has been going for ten years.
The basic idea is that around 20-30 people turn up and play games all weekend. The games are usually of a high standard and the members who participate spend a lot of time and effort in the figures, scenery and rules and a bloody good time is had all round.
I only hosted a Star Wars game this year as work got in the way for the weeks leading up to it and I didn't have time to finish anything off for it (this will be different next year).
Below are a selection of the games that were played. Not all of them, just the ones I remembered to take pictures of.
