Even more Old School cool

Although it's been a fair few months since the last lot of old school cool lol.

Plenty more Empire troops, more orcs and orks and some Eldar troopers. I'll let the pictures explain :-)

The intention is to use Galatic Heroes from Wiley Games for 40k and the normal core rules (there will be a medieval and fantasy set in the future that will get used) for the fantasy figures.

I'm still not great at taking photos, so apologies if some of them appear washed out.

Old School Cool

I grew up with the Games Workshop/Citadel 'old school' figures and there is a soft spot for them in my heart.

I do get a bit of time every now and then to do my own stuff and here is a selection of the old school figures I've done so far over the past few months.

A journey to the Empire - Covered bridge

Just a quick post for this evening of a covered bridge and a 'dead' tree for my Empire project. The bridge is made to fit a river board but is removable as I have other bridges for different games that can fit there as well. The tree is a piece of dead lavender and scale quite nicely.

The bridge took a while to build using plenty of engineers square and jigs. The walls were made and painted separately before being stuck on as they are quite fragile. The roof and tower were stuck on after that and then painted.

The tree was given a coupe of drybrushes and stuck on a base which was treated the normal way.

Old school Empire

I have a rather large soft spot for the initial GW empire range and also for the Jes Goodwin Skaven figures (skaven to follow later when I've completed more of them

These also go along with the Empire buildings I'm making and the idea is to play with an altered version of Muskets and Tomahawks (which is the go to rules set in the group that I play with) which will include some simplified magic.

The first photo is of what I had painted years and years ago so recently I've started to tart them up, re-based them and given a good coat of matt varnish

So far I’ve only done the artillery and Elector Count but the other figures aren’t far off and I’ll show them soon once they are complete. I’ve also got a couple of character figures that are done but need rebasing that are in a figure box somewhere.

Some artillery (I think I've got another 12 guns in various guises somewhere)

And here is the Elector Count of Nordland, Jakob von Sternheim
